Escape from Alcatraz!

This is one of my favorite cakes, ever! I was asked to make a cake for someone participating in the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon. So what better than to reenact part of the triathlon on the cake! The race starts out at Alcatraz and the participants swim to San Francisco, so here is my interpretation of that leg of the race. Thankfully, in the REAL race, there were no sharks! Tee hee! Go Andy!

The island is made from Rice Krispie Treats (is there anything they can't do?) and fondant.
