Soccer Birthday Cake

Carlos plays soccer for Cal State Dominguez Hills (and he's darn good, too!). His mom asked for a soccer themed birthday cake for him. I thought I would be fun to incorporate his team's logo onto the cake too!

Bet You Didn't Know Pooh Bear was a Gamer!

I love the wacky ideas I've concocted with some of my clients! There's just no limit to what can translate into cake! Here's another Winnie the Pooh cake, but this time, instead of hanging out with his pal, Tigger, he's playing his Nintendo 3DS!

You see, Beth, like Sarah, loves Winnie the Pooh, and her son had planned on getting her the brand new 3DS for her birthday (in teal of course!). I was even able to put teeny tiny controls on the DS! Love it!

Rose Cupcakes

Here is a technique I learned a little while back to pipe roses on cupcakes. These are super cute arranged in a flower pot!

The Beauty of Simplicity

Not all cakes have to be decorated to the nines. Sometimes it's nice to keep them simple.

For my mom's birthday this year, I wanted to make her a lovely birthday cake that suited her well. My mom likes to keep life simple, and doesn't require lots of bells and whistles with pretty much anything. Since her favorite cake is white with coconut, I thought I would make one with a few roses on top to dress it up. She loved it!

Here's another nice and simple red, white and blue cake.

We could all use a little more simplicity in our lives, couldn't we?

Winnie the Pooh Baby Shower

Sarah loves Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, so the hostess of her baby shower could think of nothing more fitting than a Winnie the Pooh and Tigger cake for the party! I had so much fun making this cake, especially the toppers. I used Rice Krispie Treats for the bodies and covered them in fondant. I just love them!

Here is a closer look at the topper.

In addition to the cake, I was also asked to make cookies with Pooh and Tigger. I loved that I got to learn how to draw their cute little faces!

Juicy Couture Cupcakes

I was asked to make some Juicy Couture themed cupcakes for an 18th birthday celebration. How old did I feel when I had to Google Juicy Couture to find out what it was! LOL But I figured it out and I think I captured the essence pretty well! The biggest request was for pink. So they got PINK! I loved the shade of pink of the frosting. Talk about bold! The toppers on the cupcakes were made from pink and black fondant.
